Meet Our Dedicated Team Members

At Hemp Town On Main, we're a passionate team of educators, builders, and visionaries working to unlock the full potential of industrial hemp for people and the planet. United by a shared commitment to sustainability, housing justice, and regenerative solutions, our team brings decades of experience in construction, communications, agriculture, and nonprofit leadership.

From hands-on workshops to hemp-lime housing projects, we’re dedicated to empowering communities with the knowledge and tools to build a more resilient future—together.

Greg Flavall is a pioneering figure in sustainable construction, renowned for his work with industrial hemp as a transformative building material. Born in 1959 in New Zealand, Greg's family immigrated to Vancouver, Canada, where he pursued a career in construction, mastering various facets of the trade. He later moved to California, co-owning a general contracting company specializing in residential builds and remodels.

In 2005, Greg's trajectory shifted after reading a friend's doctoral thesis titled “HEMP – The Miracle Plant of the Future,” sparking his passion for hemp-based construction. This led to the co-founding of Hemp Technologies in Asheville, North Carolina, in 2008, alongside his long-time building partner, David Madera. Together, they constructed the first permitted hempcrete homes in the United States, utilizing breathable, all-natural materials. Their success extended internationally, including building the first hemp house sponsored by the Canadian government and promoting alternative building methods in multiple countries.

Greg's expertise encompasses the entire industrial hemp lifecycle—from seed genetics and cultivation to processing and sustainable construction. As the founder of HT Global, he offers comprehensive training and consulting services in hemp agronomy, extraction, and building applications.

A passionate educator and speaker, Greg advocates for "Universal Design" and "Future-Proofing" in housing, emphasizing "Aging-in-Place" solutions and passive income opportunities through sustainable living spaces. His initiatives aim to address the affordable housing crisis by promoting eco-friendly, energy-efficient homes.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Greg is a qualified chef and enjoys playing the Scottish bagpipes, golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Currently, Greg serves as the President of Hemp Town On Main, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to hemp education and the development of affordable, hemp-based housing solutions.

Eviane is part of the horticulture faculty at Oaksterdam University, where she teaches organic cultivation, sustainability, genetics, and scaled agricultural systems. Her instruction is grounded in decades of hands-on leadership, including directing award-winning regenerative farming operations and managing scaled propagation systems using Ellepot technology. Her training includes a permaculture design certification, advanced coursework in integrated pest management (IPM), and applied expertise in land-based production systems. Her ongoing study of botanical science, cannabinoid chemistry, and herbal traditions through apprenticeship with Indigenous healers informs her approach.

Eviane has led breeding initiatives focused on genomics, agronomic performance, and cultivar diversity. She consults for farmers through her work with Breeders Best, a platform helping growers protect and license their unique plant IP. She is also a founding board member of the Ethical Data Alliance, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit developing open-source, ethics-based blockchain systems that promote transparency, decentralized storytelling, and equity in plant-based industries. She also served as a host on The Dank Hour podcast, facilitating industry dialogue around cutting-edge cannabis science.

Having homesteaded an 82-acre farm and contributed to the development of a 600-acre hot springs eco-village project, Eviane’s work integrates systems thinking, long-range planning, and hands-on stewardship. Whether developing products, land, or people, her guiding belief remains that plants are among our greatest teachers—and that the future of medicine, materials, and healing lies in their intelligence.
